By this project we intend to sponsor the Feed a Hubdred Project coming up in June this year and at the same time cater for our formal registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria. One great advantage of having our NGO registered with the government via the C.A.C is to ensure our organisation name is not registered by someone else. For example, if one's organisation name is “Utibe Etim Foundation” and someone else has already registered “Etibe Etim”, you can’t register “Utibe Etim” because the name is similar to “Etibe Etim”.
Also, we would be building a reputation especially from individuals and the public who have trusted us with the duty of charity. It gives sponsors, partners and the public a confidence that they are dealing with a reputable organization. Also our online donation services via our website is another reason why we need this credibility and trust.
Another great benefit of registering our organisation is to use it to open corporate account in our organisation's name. Having a corporate account gives more credibility and trust too from donors, banks, givers and charity partners. Furthermore, registration helps NGOs to access funds more easy compared to personal grant applications. With the documents, we have successfully proved that it's actually an organisation. This also gives credibility and trust.
